Opera Rocks

“OPERA ROCKS” is a classic love story in which a rock star makes his way into the life of a soprano. The story is presented to the audience by a narrator (in the Netherlands: Jöran Aerns), who introduces us to the lives of rock artist Freddy and opera diva Maria. Freddy is played by Ray van Duijvenbode, a rock singer and guitarist.

Lyric soprano Carla Pontes plays Maria. They are accompanied on piano by Cristiana Silva. According to the production, “the show ranges from powerful rock to delicate classical music, and from intense opera to subtle rock, beautifully brought together in new and original arrangements.”
